We’ve all done it. Felt nervous, scared or anxious about a race or goal and convinced ourselves that next time will be different.
That with the right program, more fitness and more time, we’ll “finally” feel ready or good enough to tackle the new challenge or ambitious goal we have.
So we train and we sweat. We sacrifice sleep and time with our family. And then the big day rolls around, the day when we thought we’d finally feel more confident, relaxed, comfortable and convinced that we belong — and the same old demons and doubts, nerves and fears threaten to swallow us.
We stress about all those missed training sessions and feel convinced they are the only thing that stands between us and our goal. We were supposed to feel more confident by now (dammit!) and yet, we struggle to enjoy something that’s supposed to be fun.
If you’re like me, you’ve tried everything to feel more confident.
We’ve ignored our self-doubt in the hope it will go away.
Believed that with more training, more fitness and more time, “one day” we’ll feel “ready” or “good enough”.
Convinced ourselves to buy all-the-things (shoes, clothes, bikes, packs and gadgets) ‘cause new gear always makes us feel better…for a little while until the doubt creeps back in again and we’re left wondering if we’ll ever feel confident.
We hate the fact we were supposed to be excited and motivated by signing up for this event, but instead we hate how it makes us feel and simply want it to be over and done with.
But fear and self-doubt don’t just disappear...
It’s a function of the way the human brain is wired (it’s not you - it’s all of us!).
So ignoring it or hoping it will disappear “one day” won’t work.
* Using practical, tried-and-tested-in-the-real-world tools and strategies. These will help you understand why you think and feel the way you do and (most importantly) change it. So you feel less anxious, more confident and able to enjoy your sport again. As the old saying goes, “what got you here won’t get you there”.
* Having the support of a community of like-minded, fun, brave and strong women (just like you!) who understand your struggles and who support, encourage, cheer and lift you up. You can do this alone -- but you don’t have to.
The Sparta Chicks Arena is where you'll find all of this - and more.
And you're invited!
Join now for AUD $29/month.
The Sparta Chicks Arena is an online community for women who want more from life.
It’s for women who enjoy outdoor adventure and endurance sports (like triathlons, running or cycling) who want to feel more confident, less anxious and have more fun - in training, racing and everyday life!
If you’re like many women, perhaps you…
But instead you want to….
I’m Jen Brown and I’m on a mission to support women all over the world to realise their potential.
I’m passionate about helping women to bring out their best. Because when you have the bravery and courage to chase your dreams, it not only changes your life but also the lives of your family and friends too.
If you’ve listened to the podcast I host, Sparta Chicks Radio, you’ll know I’m on this journey alongside you. I know how challenging it is to struggle with fear and self-doubt while trying to chase your exciting yet sometimes terrifying goals and dreams.
I’ve been involved in endurance sports since 2004 and have been coaching women since 2010. And over the years, I’ve realised what holds most women back - more than anything - is not the physical demands of your sport. It’s not how far or fast you have to run, swim, ride, hike or climb stairs.
What holds us back (myself included) is the mental, emotional and mindset side; the fear and self-doubt, feeling like you’re a fraud, that you don’t belong, aren’t ready or good enough or that you don’t deserve to be there and, in a million other ways, our mental state prevents us from giving, and living, our best (I even wrote a book about it!).
This is why I created the Sparta Chicks Arena.
It’s the group, tools and support I wish I’d had earlier in my endurance sports journey.
When you join, you get:
* Exclusive access to a private Facebook group with our members, guest experts and me so you can share your experience, ask for help or support and encourage other women.
If you’re feeling stuck, this is the place to go. Plus we’ll celebrate you and your achievements, especially when you’re struggling to celebrate them yourself. You’re not alone and we’ve got your back.
* Monthly worksheets with supporting audio files to help you recognise, examine and understand your unhelpful thoughts, beliefs and feelings so you can change them (as the old saying goes - “what got you here won’t get you there” - but these worksheets will!).
They only take around 30 - 45 minutes to complete each month (‘cause I know you’re busy).
* Monthly Facebook Live Q&A calls with me or I'll speak with a guest expert so you can have your questions answered, get a dose of inspiration and motivation and get back on track (priceless!).
* Secret member-only episodes of Sparta Chicks Radio.
* Discounts on in-person retreats and events we host (yes, they are in the pipeline for 2018!).
* Discounts on Sparta Chicks apparel (singlets, hats, visors and other training gear).
* Other surprises throughout the year.
You’ll get the practical tools you need (‘cause fear and self-doubt don't disappear by themselves) coupled with a support network of like-minded women; it’s a powerful combination.
There is no training advice in the Sparta Chicks Arena. The mission instead is to focus on mindset. Over my years of coaching, I’ve realised working on physical fitness without addressing our underlying beliefs, thoughts, self-doubt, patterns of self-sabotage and fear is like building a 2-storey home on shifting sands. So there’s no conflict or clash with your existing coach or training group!
The tools we share, work. They’ve been tried-and-tested for years by me, the athletes I’ve worked with and the guests I’ve had on the podcast.
Instead of worrying yourself sick or feeling paralysed or ‘stuck’ by your fear and self-doubt, you’ll channel your energy into changing the way you think so you can feel more confident and brave.
Plus you’ll immediately become a member of a group of women who understand how you feel and who are working through the icky murky world of fear and self-doubt too.
We’ll support, encourage, cheer for you and celebrate you on your journey.

Yes - you can cancel at any time (and you won’t be charged any further).
Your 100% satisfaction is my goal and I’ll work with you to make sure you’re happy with your membership. However, cancellation does not refund the current month’s payment because you’ve already been inside the Facebook group and able to benefit from it. Sounds fair, right?
Absolutely! The Sparta Chicks Arena is for everyone and because we only tackle the mental, emotional and mindset side of training and racing, there is no conflict or clash with your existing coach or training group.
No, sorry. There are plenty of great places to get training advice and lots of great coaches. Over the years I’ve realised the biggest hurdle for most women is not the physical demands of your sport (how fast you need or want to run, ride, swim, hike, climb, run stairs etc). What holds us back (myself included) most of all is the mental, emotional and mindset side - what we believe we can and can’t do — so that’s what we are tackling here at the Sparta Chicks Arena.
Absolutely. We only ask you show up in the group as your fun, engaged, naturally supportive and curious self and engage in honest and open conversations.
I get it. With all the gear and race entry fees, our sports can get pretty expensive. But I have to ask - what’s the point in spending all that money if your approach leaves you feeling scared, isolated, alone, anxious, full of doubt and struggling to enjoy something that’s supposed to be fun? So let us help you!
It’s really up to you! The monthly worksheets and audio files will take no more than 30 - 45 minutes to complete each month. The live Q&A calls will be about the same - depending on how excited we get! Plus they are recorded so you can always come back and watch them later when it suits you.
As for the Facebook group, whether you post questions, show up to answer questions, support other members, attend the events or are more of an observer who chimes in when you need a hand, we’re here for you. We’ll also send out a weekly newsletter on Friday afternoons with highlights so you don’t miss the important stuff.
Join us inside the Sparta Chicks Arena!
